When you power up the computer press F8 key 5 to 6 times so you can see safe mode and other menu then enter in "enable vga mode" then go to display property in control panel. Then change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply you can also change the display from there. You can change desktop background and other display settings from start menu->control panel->display.. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Verticle line running down the screen.Thin verticle line running down the screen.

You have a defective LCD panel. The only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD panel. It is the most expensive part in the TV (usually $500-2500) depending the make, model, and size. It is also time consuming as you need to take the whole TV apart in order to replace that part.

Verticle line down the middle of lcd monitor.

This is a common problem with LCD screens. It is pixel line damage and the screen is permanently damaged and is not repairable. It will probably get worse. The only answer is to replace it

Green verticle line on Maganavox flat screen tv

Most likely it's due to the LCD panel assy failure. It may cost you as much as to buy a new tv. The LCD panel is very expensive in retail market.
