While mowing my lawn with my Rider 15V2 AWD, suddenly there is no response to my forward and reverse pedals. The engine is still running and the blades still turning. What could the problem be and what would the repair bill be. I have owned it from new Feb 2008 and probably done about sixty hours. Thanks for your help.

My machines stitches backward instead of forward.

There is a forward and reverse switch you are missing. If you have a pedal it is a matter of pushing the pedal the right direction.

Why do the automatic stitches and cams on an elna su not work?

Remove thread from machine and open door to where you put cams in. Step on pedal and run at full speed. It the mechanism where the cams go spinning? It is likely that your elna graph gear is broke

Singer 4166 suddenly started sewing only in reverse even when forward mode checked

open the top of the sewing machine. Then press the button or lever that changes the forward reverse mode. You may find that something got stuck there where it should effect the machine part. May a drop of oil on that spot can help?

Hello. I hope u can help me. I cannot get my stitching tight? If I pull the thread it comes right out. Thanks Jodie

You need to backstitch over the beginning and end of your stitching, Jodie. When you start out, manually turn the wheel to put the needle into the fabric. Push the foot pedal to stitch forward a little. Now, reverse over those stitches to nearly where you started stitching. Use the foot pedal to go forward again, stitch to where you want to end. Reverse again, just a 1/4 inch or so. Then take the fabric out and cut your stitching.

This backstitching keeps your thread from pulling straight out. You should always use it with straight stitches and general zigzag stitches. Don't use it with decorative or embroidery stitches, though, as it mars the appearance of them. But if you're doing any type of topstitching that uses straight stitches, backstitch in the area that will be in the seam allowance, ever so slightly, or your top stitching will pull out, too.

Hope that helps!

Bernina 1090 only sewing backwards

1.Turn the bobbin winder off.
2.You have to reverse the wires on the carbon brushes.

3.Make sure that you have the needle in correctly- with the flat side to the back. Those machines rarely go out of time.

Only sewing in reverse

If your reverse button has been stuck at all in the past then it may have just been sitting close to reverse for awhile and fell into that setting. Maybe your machine needs a good maintenance cleaning.
