Hi,
Instructions :

  1. Remove the old ink jet cartridge from the printer following the manufacturer instructions. Close the lid on the printer to keep it free from dust and debris while you are refilling the Canon ink cartridge.
  2. Locate the ink tank on the cartridge. Put a 3mm drill bit in a drill. Drill a hole in the top of the ink tank on the cartridge.
  3. Gently insert the needle on the bottle of ink into the hole you just drilled in the ink cartridge. Avoid squeezing the bottle until the needle is completely inserted in the ink tank.
  4. Squeeze the ink bottle gently to refill the cartridge. Fill the tank with a little at a time until the cartridge is full.
  5. Remove the needle from the ink tank. Wipe the top of the Canon ink cartridge off with a paper towel. Place a small piece of duct tape over the drilled hole. Rub the tape to remove air bubbles and to make sure it adheres to the cartridge.
  6. Put the refilled ink cartridge back into the printer. Clean the head of the printer by running the printer software and following the instructions for head cleaning.
Good Luck!

5100 ...................Carriage control error

Sorry, can't be solvable.. for e5 error.

If you refill your color cartridge that's what it happens.

For Canon, if you refill 4~5 times... (only apply to color), your cartirdge is not readable.

The only solution would be replace your cartridge with new one.

I have just refilled the color cartridge of canon PIXMA iP1300 printer and it shows cartridge can't be recognised !!

most manufacturers put a chip in the cartridge to tell the printer that it is new and full.
you need to tell the cartridge its been refilled.

you can buy reset devices for cartridges off ebay etc.

Ink cartridges cannot be recognized in canon printer

Hello!
Remove the cartridges and gently wipe the cartridge contacts with a dry cloth, then put them back in. Then, hold the "resume" button for 10 seconds for each cartridge, that should reset them.
If that doesn't work, one of your cartridges (sadly) needs to be replaced.

Canon pixma ip 1300

Make sure the cartridge is seated properly in the correct place. If the cartridge is a refilled compatible, throw it in the bin and get a new one. Approx 30% of compatibles can be faulty.
