Cd rom is not working when i put a dic in it won;t do anything

Right click on My Computer>Manage>Device Manager>does your CD-ROM have a yellow ? or ! on it?
If so, then you somehow need to install a driver for your computer to recognize your drive. If you can get an external CD-ROM that connects to a USB port, maybe you can install the drivers that way. Once that CD-ROM is working, then you can get the drivers installed for your modem. Hope that helps!

probably unaligned position or irritated lens....... try to disassemble the CD housing, realigned the lens holder by pushing it to the rear end of the Disk Drive, then clean the lens with clean cotton buds with alcohol, let it dry by cleaning it with the dry clean cotton buds.... reasseble the housing... reconnect to PC.... re-detect the CD-ROM at the BIOS Set-up and....... Most likely your CD-Rom either needs to be cleaned or replaced. Try running a regular CD player cleaning disc in the ROM. If this doesn't get it working correctly, then you will have to replace the CD-ROM or buy an external ROM that hooks up with a USB cable.

Confirm that the CD drive is not a CD-ROM dive and the CD you are trying to open is is not a DVD. CD-ROM drive wil not open a DVD ROM and in some cases will cause the system to stop responding if youtry to run it.

The game may not be a cd that is setup to auto-load.

Put the cd in, give about a minute and then go into My computer and where your cd-rom is in there it should show the cd loaded as it will have a name there of the cd. If it doesn't show something then the cd might be bad.

If it does show something then right click on the drive and choose open and then it will show you all the files on the cd, then choose setup to install the game.

Now back to the cd, if it doesn't show anything in my computer then try other cd's to make sure your cd-rom is still working cause if its not reading anything then your drive is bad and would need to be replaced.

are you waiting for the auto run feature to start?

If so just click on my computer on your desktop

and go to your DVD drive and click on it .

if that doesn't work in the DVD drive look for a file called setup or install

then it should work .

Run a CD/DVD lens cleaner disk and see if that helps you.

Its not finding hardware? try remove the drive and change IDE or SATAcable(what ever you're using)and reinsert and reinstall the drivers.

Try deleting it in the device manager and then reboot your computer to see if it will detect it, then when it asks, point it to the driver.

Magnit can damage your Cd drive, maby it is damaged.
