If you have checked the charger and are sure it isn't working. Then you have two options: You can buy a new on-board charger or try to locate a good used off-board charger from someone in your local area. Or maybe borrow one from a neighbor that has a power chair to see if it will charge your batteries. You just plug the off-board charger into the charger port located under the front of your joystick. Off-board chargers should be cheaper than an on-board from Pride. Hope this helps

Just replace batteries. Technician took out onboard charger because wires were frayed. Gave me external charger to use. Now indicator lights up as fully charged, but chair won't move.

Hello, this may be a late answer. I would have returned to the technician for answers, also. It may be possible to regenerate batteries so hang on to them until you have them tested. Hope this helped .

What batteries do I need to buy for my jazzy 1113 power chair?

Your chair uses two U-1 batteries.

Here's the manual:

http://www.pridemobility.com/includes/download.php?f=Owners_Manuals/US_Jazzy/US_Jazzy_1113_ATS_om.pdf

Since you're about to replace them anyway, you might try something else first..
Your charger is a "smart" charger. If the charge on the batteries is too low, the charger won't recognise them as bateries, and won't charge them.
Get access to the batteries (it's in the manual) and disconnect them. Keep track of where the wires came from. Use an old, non-"smart", car charger to put a quick charge on them. Bring them up to 12 V each, or just an hour apiece.
Hook everything back up and try it again with the Pride charger.

Good luck.

Pride jazzy 1113, controller light scroll back and forth, wont move, i bought one new battery, it has full charge other battery is a little over 10 volts. is there way to test charger with volt meter?

The voltmeter should read 29 volts when on. You should never replace one battery and leave an old battery in the chair. Replace them both at the same time.

Chair shows to be charged, but isn't

Unfortunatly, your batteries need to be replaced. The batteries contain a gel that needs to have current run through it on a regular basis (at least 8 hours once a week) or it will solidify. If you attach the charger, what will most likely happen is the green light will either stay green or go to green after a very short time. The charger will indicate the batteries are full, but instead of being full of power, they are full of crud. Your warranty will most likely not cover replacment as this is due to customer neglect, but your insurance may still cover the replacement if you can wait for the process to go through. Otherwise, you will need to replace the batteries on your own, check your owner's manual for the type needed. Good luck!

Have a jazzy 1113. The speed profile lights flash then the chair shuts off. The batteries show full.

The flash of the speed lights indicate that you are in the charger inhibit mode and if the charger is not plugged in then you have a problem that needs to be checked by a tech or your provider that sold you your chair Sorry I don't have a quick fix

My dad has not used his Jazzy for about 8 months and it only comes on when plugged in and not when it is not plugged in. What can I try?

Most likely the batteries have gone solid while it was sitting unused. The gel in the batteries requires them to be put on a charger at least once a week even if the rider is not using the chair otherwise the batteries will go bad. Replace the batteries and that will most likely solve your problem. If his insurance bought the power chair for him, they may cover the cost of the replacement batteries. The batteries cost $75-$120 otherwise, and you will need two of them.
Good luck!

Battery charger will not work after replacing batteries

Hi. Check that batteries are correctly connected. I have had a lot of trouble with faulty battery connectors. Most machines need better connectors that can handle higher currents. Are the LED's on the charger showing correctly. The charger wont operate correctly if it is not conected to the batteries correctly. Check for broken wires in the chager socket. Good luck. Neil.

Jazzy 1113 will not charge, batteries are new, light blinks indicates charging when plugged in but fails to increase usage lights.

Most likely your charge isn't charging properly. You need a multimeter to test the voltage at the joystick. In the 3-pin femal connector measure the voltage across the two horizontal terminals. It should read about 24 volts. Now plug it into the charger and see if the voltage increases, if not, charger needs to be replaced. You can get one that plugs into the joystick on ebay a lot cheaper than going to the mfgr. about $50.00 or so. Even if the lights are blinking, it may not be putting out sufficient voltage to bring the batteries up.
