Hi. Get an aerosol can of a penetrating lubricant called WD-40. Apply a few squirts to the action end of the nailer. let it sit for a couple of hours and then try it again. Repeat if necessary. J.

Pull trigger, nothing happens except light comes on

Be very careful. Sounds like a jammed unit. bent hammer or metal fragments in the mechanism. Inspect unit closely and oil. Make sure it is off no charged mechanism or power before you start.

I have a dewalt dc618 finish nailer When I go to shoot the lights on the gun start to flash and will not shoot ?

Continuous flashing indicates low battery charge or poor battery connection. If lights flash 4 or 5 times indicates possible control module fault.

My Brad sudddenly stopped working. Makes a Psft

If you've not already tried applying air motor oil to the gun than you should do this first. If this does not solve your problem than it's very possible that your main diaphram is worn or poruse. Thank you, Dana

Brad nailer not firing nail...can hear brief air noise upon pulling the trigger

Porter cable makes a number of brad nailers (18 gauge) that very quickly suffer from the problem that you are having. You did not mention the model number of your gun but if it is one of these, (bn125a, bn200a, ns100a) kit # 60061 will fix the problem. It costs between 25 and 30 dollars. Google that part number or order from www.dewalt.com. Dewalt owns the porter cable brand. Before you order the kit, check that the driver blade is not bent and stuck. The driver should travel freely down the cylinder. When you install parts, use Danco silicone grease to lube (availabel at Lowes in the plumbing department) If your model # is different from those mentioned above, please email me and I will recommend a repair.

Nailer jams with 1-5/8 brads

It sound to me that the 1 5/8 brads are not 18 guage but probably 16 guage and they will not work. Double check them first before going any further. You can usually lay them next to the smaller ones that work and see the size difference, if not let me know and I will dig deeper.

Nails won't shoot

18 guage nailer has a very thin driver and plastic cylinder which bends or breaks easily. Remove the head noting all the parts in the head and remove the piston which should be at the top of the cylinder. Check for broken or bent shaft. Most likely broken and jammed in cylinder. Parts are not expensive. Check WWW.toolpartsdirect.com for diagram and parts
