I have a hitachi ultravision tv m#53sbx10b s#v1g000279 and everything works but there is a blue and somtimes yellow swoosh thing in the top left corner. it like fades throughout the colors? i was hoping that it might be a easy fix. i looked inside and all bulbs are on yellow blue and red. so i do not think that it is a bulb?

You have a defect in the convergence circuit. Both chips will need replaced and possibly a resistor or two. Chip part numbers are STK392-110. Typical repair runs around $350

Hi,it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem.This is how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo So basically the 3 Lcd chips that create the colors and image is going bad and thats why you get that color discoloration.Contact Hitachi or look for your light engine online.God bless you and your house!

that is a convergence fail. would need dome new parts and board rework. expect somewhere in the neighborhood of $200-$500 for repair from most tv service centers.
