SOURCE: trouble hooking up sony components..Bravia, Home theatre, blu-ray
Got your post, I will work with the model #s. Get back with you soon. Also a tip for now: HDMI carries true digital video and audio so you may not need the optic cables.

SOURCE: connect dvd home theatre system to bravia lcd digical tv
Amongst 3 audio and 3 video options on DVD, use only one for displaying picture on TV and one for getting sound.
Yellow Wire is for picture.
Red Wire is for sound.
White Wire is for sound.
Connect Yellow from TV to yellow at DVD
Red from TV to Red at DVD
White from TV to White at DVD
Hope this help.....

If you plugged the yellow wire from your DVD player into the "Y" input of the TV this is to be expected. Please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video for information regarding this.
You need to either see if the DVD player has component out, or see if there is a "Video-in" (that's yellow, not green in color) on the back of the TV and change to that input instead.

Check the connections between the cable box and the TV. If you are using scart check the connector is in squarely if using rgb or composite you need a separate audio connection using the red and white phon sockets.

maybe there is something wrong with the way you put the cables in?
