We have the Scotsman Ice Maker but it quit working and we would like to be able to use the custom, wood paneled door on whatever we put in that space. Is the Scotsman upright freezer the same size and be able to accept the door that is on the ice machine? Or would we have to purchase another Ice Maker? I have tried several times to clean it and had a repair man out twice and I just don't think it is worth trying to fix it again. He said it didn't have enough water power to property make the normal ice cube.

When frost builds up on the little flapper at the top of the door above the ice maker it can get stuck. It tells the ice maker to keep making ice. Try cleaning the mechanism of frost and make sure it operates freely.

if the temp. in the refrigerator side is 20f, its to low, set the ref. to 40f and freezer to 0f.

Older icemakers have a bar that drops from above your ice bin; once the bin is full the bar is raised and trips turning the ice maker off so that it won't dump. If your's is this style, try manually pushing the free end of the bar upward so that it locks in the upward position. Newer ice makers with the ice bin in the door have a small panel that moves to the open position when the door opens and closes when the door closes. Mine also includes an optical sensor that is visible when this panel is in the closed position. Try placing a non-clear tape over the optical sensor (don't know if that will work or not but worth a shot). If effective in stopping the ice flow then call a repairman. If none of this works, turn off the water supply coming out of the wall to your freezer.

The control panel is most likely at fault. They are all controlled by the panel. Very rare for all 3 devices to go faulty seperately

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.
