I assume you mean the monitor itself keeps shutting off and on? These LCD style monitors are infamous for failed power supplies, due to faulty capacitors inside the unit (which are very hard to detect). the capacitors buldge and sometimes leak when they are faulty. they work for a very short time, then fail. BE VERY CAREFUL inside any monitor as Capacitors Can give you a whopper of a shock, Even after being unplugged. if its your house power breaker, Id look to a frayed power wire, or the wall receptacle. Try a different outlet see if the problem moves with you, which would point to the monitor itself.

Hi thanks, no it was tripping the whole house power. but yes ive had a look inside and none of the capacators seem to have a bulge or look burnt out. the wires are fine and everything. i realise there must be a short circuit of some sort but i cant see what it is. everything looks fine, any ideas what it may be? i know you said probably a resistor but im not so sure, thanks again, adam
