I tried burning a DVD using the Everio Power Cinema software and the process "appeared" to be ok, with a status bar indicating the DVD was being burned, but it aborted after quite a while with the error code "FF030C80" and no other message. I was only loading about 2 gbytes on a 4 gbyte DVD.
My DVD burner (on my DELL PC) passed the self-test and I have successfully used the same device to burn CDs. I am using blank DVD +Rs (NOT +RW) and the burner is a +R device, according to the software message. However, the label on the front of my burner says "RW" only, with no plus or minus sign.
Can you help ? Thanks,
Glenn F.

Usually if it's a formating issue is because it is a wrong disc. Make sure what format the burner can use meaning if it's a - or +. Also, the sony brand disc don't work with anything but sony stuff so make sure it's not a sony disc.

This is a problem with the firmware of your camera or bad device. Try to update the firmware first.

means you have a faulty or failed DVD burner (error is Power Calibration Error, returned through the ATAPI driver). Test with different /branded/ blank media, if none work then replace the drive. If you find one that works, stock up.

hey i have also had the same problem, but mine was as simple as dodgy dvd's. i bought about 25 in bulk and that same code ff037303 came up with about 10 of them. even when i tried to create dvd in another program it got to 98% then stopped. go and buy new dvds and try again. great camcorder though.
