Touchpad of dell inspiron 1464 is not working atall.

Bad touchpad. Find one on ebay and replace.

First check that your memory ( RAM) are firmly seated.Press on the memory sticks to make sure they have good contact.
Also The issue could be related with the operating system, as for instance in some cases the OS causes computer turns on, and turns off again. what I can suggest is that you re install the operating system again, or reboot computer to the factory defaults from the rescue CDs that you made. If the problem still exists , then there must be some hardware issue. In which I recommend you contact Dell support.

you first need the USB drivers in the PC working prefectly or the camera will be dead
then the DELL drivers for this this exact PC loaded, and only DELL has those, not fixya, nor MS< nor others.
only DELL.com has them.

or load all the correct driver there and it will work
unless the PC is infected with virus, as that kills anything,.

did you upgrade from VISTA ,if yes, that be #1 first fact to tell.

scrolling is a function of the touchpad driver, try downloading it and reinstalling the driver.
support.dell.com is where you can find the driver

Did you purchase the adapter directly from dell, If so call them and have then send a tech out its free to see whats exactly going on. My sisters laptop was under warranty and something went on it they sent a tech out a day later and fixed it!

To enable or disable the touch pad, press the key on the function key row on the keyboard. It is next to the F12 Key.
