To get access to the starter you will probably have to lift the motor out of the machine. Most Kawaski hulls do not give you much room to work. When you take the exhaust off you may have enough room to unbolt the starter.

It is fairly easy to change your starter bendix. Just start by disconnecting the battery cables. Then you will remove the bolts on the flywheel cover, which also hold the starter in place, and then just change the old part out with the new one.

You will have to unbolt and move the electronic box, unbolt and remove the upper exhaust manifold, and the expansion chamber . This should give you access to the starter underneath.
