White lines on image however when capturing on dark areas and on video mode, it produce a perfect image

Not clear when you have white lines. While looking on the screen or really on a image.
Lots of camera's produce lines on the LCD, when using the LCD to frame the picture. Special when there are small and sharp lights in the image. But the sensor is not capturing that while making the picture. It is a sort of smear on the screen.
Also, when you try to make a picture in bright lights, you can get flares, but those you can see on the screen and in the picture. To fight flares, most camera's and lenses come with sun hoods. Your camera does not have a hood, so try to avoid shining bright lights on the front of the lens.

The screen is black , cant see image . batterys are new , went step by step over and over again in the user guide , still no pic on the screen . that drives me nuts , what could that be ?

Hi Mike:
Coulds be LCD problem, you can see Menu Settings? If no, its a LCD issue; if yes, a CCD problem would explain the black or lines on your pictures and the lines on the LCD (since the CCD is used to feed the live image). CCD (Charge Coupled Device) is one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras.

Some symptoms of a defective CCD include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter.

In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details: Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Lines on the screen

If you can't see the image at all after taking it then you will have to have the lcd screen replaced. You can send it into Casio and have it repaired if it is still under warranty or you can see if you can find someone else to replace it cheaper than what Casio would charge you.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Cant take the picture

Probably the ccd imaging unit has died, or the cable that opens the iris has failed, either way this is not a user repair
