Timer
The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is bad and needs replacing. If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem

Heating Element
This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat inside the tub. Replace the Heating Element.

First check the heating element for short to frame. If it is not shorted remove the filter chute and clear it out. The control thermostat has 4 wires. 2 small wires come from the timer and power up a small heater inside the control thermostat making it shut down faster for perm press and knit cycles. Over time this bimetal inside the control stat won't shut down fast enough or not at all. If it won't shut down then the element will gl;ow reed and the base 250 stat on the heater chamber will shut down. If it fails to do so then the smaller one up top will trip at 300f. If it fails to trip or the filter chute is clogged the fuse skinny white plastic thing next to the control tstat will met and shut down operation.

Your heating element is shorted to ground, you will need to replace it.

Sounds like your gas valve is fine, if it comes on at all, its good. A air flow restriction would cause a overheat condition and shut down the burner. Once it cools back down the burner would re-ignite and repeat the cycle. The sensor on the left of the burner is the flame sensor and the flame wouldn't come on at all if it was bad. You've already changed the coil kit so the valve is fine, disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer and see if the problem goes away. If the problem stays, I would suspect the thermostat. Vacuum out the intake and exhaust passages for the burner.

first check your venting. if you have backed up lint then it will not heat as well. if it's not your venting i would check to see if your heating element is broken and shorted to the casing..some times it will still heat if the coils weld themselves to the casing...if the heating element looks good then i would turn to your electrical.
