Once i open my router how do i actually open the ports for xbox tcp80,udp88,exctra im using a action tec gt704wg wireless router

only way i solved it was to go into advanced configuration and turn off firewall when i want to use it for gaming. specifically black ops.

You Will Have to Disable the Firewall In Your modem / Router

And IF it is a router then Open The Ports

• TCP 80
• UDP 88
• UDP 3074
• TCP 3074
• UDP 53
• TCP 53


And also make sure that UPnP is enabled

I'm guessing when you say unlock you are needing to forward these ports. Follow this link...it shows you how to get into the router and forward the ports:

The NAT is set to the actiontec modem/router so the next troubleshooting is to open the ports of the XBox ports 80, 3074, 53 TCP and 88, 3074, 53 UDP. To allow the XBox on the network using your modem/router.

you do it through your router.thoes ports are by default open anyway but if you have a firewall it will block then unless you allow them

First of all I would check and see if you router is on the compatibility list from Microsoft. If it is there is a good chance it should work just by enabling UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is enabled on the router.

If this is not an option, or you router is not on the list you may have to enable the port forwards, they are sometimes listed as NAT or Network Address Translations on the router.

You may have to forward all of these ports:

• UDP 88
• UDP 3074
• TCP 3074
• UDP 53
• TCP 53

Page 64 of you manual will tell you how to do this. Belkin calls it "Virtual Servers" and it will be found under "Firewall" on the menu tree on the left of the web gui.

Once you're there it should be fairly self explanatory.

open up your internet browser, and in the top search box (delete the www ****) and type in: 192.168.1.1. or try 192.168.2.1.

that will open up your linksys router, the default password and user name is: admin

then from in there you can mess around with your ports.

these need to be primarily setup on your router...
