Hi,
I have a 32 inch Full HD Digital LCD TV (ELDFT321)
How do I make the picture full screen. I have tried the aspect button but there is still always a border. Is there a way to fix this?

Simple answer. No. But please read on . . . Full HD Freeview, i.e 1080p does not exist. The four HD channels currently available on Freeview all transmit at 720p resolution. There is insufficient bandwidth in the TV transmission range for the HD channels to transmit at 1080p. It could be done, but it would be at the expense of other channels.
Your TV, however, is Full HD, as indicated by the 1080p in the specifications. This means it can display a full HD picture from a device which outputs at 1080p resolution. Devices which generally output at 1080p resolution include Blu-ray DVD players, games systems and PCs.
When viewing a Freeview HD channel, your TV will display the picture in 1080i (interlace) resolution. This is not true/full HD. The transmitted picture comprises of 720 horizontal lines and the software inside the TV is creating the additional 360 lines and interlacing them between the 720 lines from the original transmission in order to create a 1080 line picture which fills the entire screen. This process is commonly known as 'upscaling' and can cause deterioration in the overall picture quality, most noticably on poor quality, cheap TVs.
What exactly do you mean by goes silent? Does the screen turn off but you can still hear the audio? Please provide this info so that I can help you with your problem.
Can't get full picture ?
If this is for running a dvd if it is not a
full screen version of the dvd then you
will not get it.
If it is widescreen addition you will get the
black bars at the top and bottom.
If you can't get full screen in normal mode a
few things could cause this.
One if your running from your "say" direct tv box.
You will need to try your Format button...second
button on the left of the remote.
Second you could try the restore settings on your
tv, it will restore the settings to the manufacturer's
original settings.
Keep in mind that not all tv channels are full screen.
Example: If I watch nfl gameday in HD it is full screen.
If I select the same program but, not in HD the screen
is smaller. thing it goes to a 4:3 aspect ration..
Switch back to HD and it's full screen again.
Look in ur tv remote control, look for a buttons like Aspect Ratio,P.sizes,View Mode.Used one of these buttons can change ur tv picture screen to full or zooming in extra..
Not all programs are broadcast in HD yet. The picture should fill the screen if it is broadcast in HD. The TV will shrink the picture of a SD broadcast to give you a correct picture aspect. SD is broadcast in 16:9 and HD in Widescreen
Use the Picture, Zoom, or Aspect button on the TV remote to cycle through the available screen sizes. You may also be able to set screen size in a Setup-Picture (or Video) menu.
