I tried to update sonicstage of my nw e003f from 1.0 to 2.1 version wid my walkman connected through usb.. i was not able to update the software and since then walkman screen is showing UPDATE ERROR.. no effect of any button press, and my computer is not identifying it when connected through usb.. plz help..
Press the reset button at the back of the player ... and that should work for you to try again to update the version.

The NO DATA or FORMAT ERROR message may occur if the portable player has been formatted using the format utility in Windows Explorer. To correct this issue, initialize (format) the portable player using the Initialize or Format utility built into your Walkman player.
Reset the unit by pressing the RESET button with a small object such as a paper clip.
If the issue persists, I suggest that you un-install and reinstall the latest version of the Sonic Stage Software and transfer the songs again to resolve the issue. Click here to download the latest version of the SonicStage Software.

The FORMAT ERROR message may occur if the Walkman player has been formatted using the format utility in Windows Explorer. To correct this issue, initialize (format) the portable player using the Initialize or Format utility built into your Walkman player.
Home button-->Menu-->Advanced Menu-->Initialize-->Format-->OK.
Reset the unit by pressing the RESET button with a small object such as a paper clip. Reset button is located near the volume buttons.
If the issue occurs after making any changes in the SonicStage Software, then reinstall the Software in the Computer using the latest version. Click here to download the latest version of the SonicStage Software.
This should resolve the issue.
