I have a 5th generation iPod Nano. I've had it less than one year, and now whenever I plug it into my computer with the USB cord that came with it, my computer says "USB device not recognized" and that the...

  • Check system requirements. - iPod nano (5th generation) requires the following minimum versions of Windows: either Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or later), Vista or Windows 7. If you have one of these versions of Windows, verify that Windows is fully up to date by downloading and installing software updates from Microsoft. If you have Windows XP with Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Windows XP Service Pack 2, download and install Service Pack 3 using Windows Update.

  • iTunes online? - Confirm that iTunes has been downloaded and installed.

  • AMDS online? - iPod nano requires Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS), which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, click Start > Control Panel. Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel and verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs. If it is not, remove and reinstall iTunes.

  • Check USB connection. - Disconnect all USB devices from the system with the exception of the iPod nano and any USB keyboard and mouse. Then restart your computer. Verify that you are using a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Test with an alternate iPod USB cable if one is available.

  • AMDS - Re-verify that AMDS is running and installed.

  • iTunes usage - Remove and reinstall iTunes.
hope this helps

Recently upgraded itunes - now problems with internet explorer.

Okay there are several problems that could be preventing you from downloading .exe files. First of all Norton (Like many other anti virus software's) continue to run even when you disable them. They have what you might call a protection mode. So My first step of advice is to completely uninstall Norton, and attempt to download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Tell me if you still can not download exe files I will continue to assist you, but you must check on a daily basis to see if I have gotten back to you, If I do not get a response I will assume that your problem is resolved.

Thank You,

Problems with dlls

It sounds like you may have recently updated your iTunes software. You may want to try uninstalling any current iTunes software and then install the newest version. Before you install you may want to turn off your firewall and disable your virus software (be sure to turn everything back on after the install). Anti virus programs and windows firewall can play havoc with software upgrades and downloads from the internet. Hope this helps!

Bios update problems P4S800-MX

An .exe file isn't a .rom file. You downloaded the flash program (the program used to flash new data to the ROM), you didn't download the flash data. Look on the site again, or look to see if there's another file - P4S800MX.ROM - to extract.

ROM Version

you should install the ROM v1.10 update, and then install the 8/3/2005 XIP BIOS update recently posted at: ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp30501-31000/sp30939.exe Apparently, this BIOS update is supposed to correct the region in ROM v1.10 where the hi-capacity battery read error is found, without incrementing the ROM version. It's explained in the BIOS update "Read Me" file, here: ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp30501-31000/sp30939.txt
