There is no firmware available online for this model. KODAK suggests a repair for this fault.
However due to spare part shortage this model is no longer repaired. Instead KODAK offers a trade up option where you will have the opportunity to trade up to a newer model 25-30% cheaper than the market price.

As a first step, make sure the batteries are fully charged and check in the Shooting menu if you have switched the flash to 'off' mode. Then check the shooting mode. In some shooting modes (like landscape), some cameras do not fire the flash. To check if the flash is working properly, change the mode to 'Night Portrait' and try to shoot. This mode is sure to fire the flash if everything is well with the camera. If still the flash is not working, take it to the nearest authorized service center.
I have the same camera.
But when your camera is flashing the green light, that means it's transferring pics.
If the light is just green on the camera, that means that it's charging i think.
But i don't know how to tell when my camera is through charging is my problem.
I've had my camera for a long time so I don't think I'll get the option of taking it back and exchanging it but I keep having the same charging problem. I just tried the flash button trick... the green light is on, steady, and holding. I'm not going to touch it any more and I hope that if I leave it this way for a bit it'll charge up.
My advice is to NOT LET THE BATTERY RUN DOWN past half charge, otherwise it won't have enough power to stay on long enough to register the fact that its plugged in to the computer.
