You have a file error: a system file may be missing or you have a format error on the SHOQBOX.

To fix this problem:

1. Connect the SHOQBOX to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
2. Plug your SHOQBOX into a wall outlet with the supplied AC adapter.
3. Launch the Device Manager at Start->Programs->Philips->Philips->PSS110 (or the model number of your SHOQBOX) on your PC.
* IMPORTANT: All music & content of your SHOQBOX will be erased once the factory setting is restored.
4. A dialogue box will pop up; click Restore and OK to confirm and start restoring the unit to its factory setting.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the restoration.
6. The Device Manager will close automatically once the success message is displayed.
7. Transfer a couple of songs into your SHOQBOX to confirm if the SHOQBOX has fully recovered all the files.
8. Close all opened applications and safely remove your SHOQBOX by clicking on the icon on your Windows task bar tray.
9. When prompted, ?The USB Mass Storage Device can now be safely removed from the system?, click OK and unplug your SHOQBOX.
10. Your player will display ?UPGRADING FIRMWARE?? once disconnected from the computer.
11. After firmware upgrade is complete, it will reset itself, showing the PHILIPS splash screen.
12. Press to switch on the player again.

I need help uploading new music to my MP3 player

Did you install the MP3 player setup on computer at all? If you didn't and can do this, this would probably be the only way to reset it. Hope this helps.

Philips ShoqBox PSS120 will not down load music

Try using Windows Explorer instead to transfer files and see if that works:
Plug in the device to the computer making sure it is detected. Right click START button and select Explore. Scroll down the left panel to the device entry. It should be the drive listed after your DVD/CDROM drive. Click the (+) next to the entry to expand the folders. Find the folder where the Mp3's are stored. Now you can simply drag/drop the files from your PC into your player.

Hope that helps!

Can't Seem To Find The Music On My Shoqbox

Search for a program called 'Shoqbox buddy' which will rebuild the database on your player. Operation is fairly self-explanatory.

Once you run the program and navigate to the right location on the player it takes seconds.

Shoqbox

The PSS series only recognizes an obsolete DRM-9 license for WMA files. IF the songs were working previously on this mp3 player, make sure your music service subscription is up-to-date - delete every song off of here and then reload them. IF there were never working: You will need to stick to songs that are in true mp3 format if you want to get any use at all out of this player.

Shoqbox not playing or showing song loaded

Make sure you have the version of the Musicmatch from the Philips website first, and try again - Musicmatch discontinued their service in Oct 2007, making this particular Philips mp3 player obsolete.

Also, make sure the files you are trying to load are in Mp3 format specifically - this player cannot take DRM-encrypted WMA files.

Can no longer connect with computer

possibly needing reset? Try pushing a pin into the reset hole under the back cover.

If that doesn't work, just wait until it runs out of power.

Then charge, and plug back into the computer

Possibly needing to format and reinstall the firmware. The firmware is on the site.

Good luck,
Adam

Phillips ShoqBox

You must find the time section in the menu. Hookup to the computer and try that way.
