I had this happen to mine after the third cut of the day (several hours of use on it already). Smoked a little, then just stopped working. I took it all apart and found one of the brushes not sticking out. Found the string fully depressed somehow, and i feel like it had to come from the factory like that. Because it wasnt pusing on the brush, the brush chipped off a peice. I stretched the srping out and put it all back together and it worked again. I don't know for how long since the one brush is chipped, but we'll see.

Electric chain saw wont run

Did you try plugging it into a different plug ? Did you by chance cut your electrical cord? Was it plugged into a GFI receptacle? Might have to reset it or maybe blew a circuit breaker.

Motor makes a noise when I let up on the trigger.

If it cost more than 300, than yes worth fixing ... but if u paid around 150 for it then no. If u did the repair yourself, yes.. is this an electric chainsaw?.. Junk...

Chain not engaging

I have not worked on electric chainsaws but I do work on gas powered saws. The clutch shoes could be wore out if the saw sees frequent use. Could be something wrong internally as well.

Motor of the saw runs, but chain does not move.

your clutch is bad and how old is this saw if it is too old it would not be worth fixing

Blade were a bit stiff when machine switched causeing the motor to smoke a little and stop

if your talking about an electric chain saw, you have burnt out the windings on the motor and the chain saw is now in need of a new motor. If the saw was less than $100.00 US, you will most likely not be able to get it fixed cheaply enough and might just as well buy a new one. If it is brand new and under warranty, you can most likely get a replacement for free but you will have to contact the actual manufacturer, you can also try the store/dealer where you purchased the saw

Can you adjust clutch 16"homelite electric saw

There is not a clutch on an electric chain saw, it is direct drive when the electric motor ia activated. If the chain is binding it will stop the chain.

Electric motor on remington chain smoked and quit what should I do

If it is under warranty, then swap it.
If not, then check the brushes.
If they are ok, then repair is most likely more than its worth.
Make sure the switch or cord is not the problem.
Check for a thermo overload reset.
But most likely it is toast, I would guess.

I need a replacement motor for a Remington Electric Chain Saw Model 107624-01 EL8. Anyone have any suggestions.

You can buy this complete saw for about 75.00 on amazon. I've heard of others burning up the field and armature in this model saw. You can buy a homelite electric at Home Depot 50-75 depending on model. Doesn't seem like it would be worth fixing, only to have it burn up again. Sounds like it needs a thermal overload to prevent damage. GOOD LUCK1

You click the trigger the saw starts only for a couple of seconds then runs out of juice.Local chainsaw out fit wont look at it .is worth repairing

the armature is heating up also the bearings could be bad.. on speculation actually you need a new electric chain saw. it will cost more to have that 1 fixed than what you paid for it...
