The ignition on my hob is sparking every second or so constantly on it's own? The knobs don't seem to be stuck down or anything obvious. All four ignition points on the cooking points are visibly sparking.

I think the problem lies at your knob mechanism. Try to service the mechansm. Currently the possible problem is lies at the contact point(electrical) might accidently contact without pressing down the knob. This normally occur when it is hyper press or there are grease in between the contact. Possible solution is replace the damage knob... or repair it.

We have an electrolux gas hob and it seems as if the electric spark ignition is stuck and it is clicking all the time on all four burners. Wonder if you have any suggestions ??

Hello,
The problem is one(or more) of the 4 switches that turn on the spark when that burner is turned on is shorted and stays closed (on) all the time.To determine which one it is the face where the knobs are has to be removed, with THE POWER OFF a meter set to low ohms rating is used to check each switch by removing the wires to it and see which one has continunity (ZERO OHMS) when its off and that switch that slips on the burner valve shaft is the bad switch(s) and needs to be replaced to keep it from sparking all the time.

I hope this helps you to repair your cooktop,
Gene

Four burner gas hob

You have to turn the knob a little farther, past the light stage. Sometimes they're not marked quite like they should be.

Dacor SGM304... no ignition

There is no fuses, as long as you have a power supply into unit then the only item that can cause this fault is a faulty spark generator.the hob will need to be dismatled to repair, remove the knobs, remove the burners and then remove the obvious screws, top will lift off Regards Advisor

Stuck auto ignition

Either one of the ignition switches are stuck down internally or the ignition pack is faulty, no other possible cause. Regards Advisor

Gas Hob constant ignition clicking

Had the same problem. All five burners were continuously igniting, after my wife had given the stove a clean. Turned off the power, removed the five knobs and corresponding rubber rings, and used a hair dryer on the five holes where the knobs were for about ten minutes in total. Hey presto, when I turned the power back on, the constant igniting had stopped. Thank you all. I love the internet :-)
