Frigdaire model GLHS68EGW2 Ice dispenser does not work on side door. I pulled out the ice tray and held in the switch on the door and pushed on the ice dispenser on the door and no movement on the ice dispenser motor. I do notice that when I push in the ice dispenser padel on the door it is much slower to come back up to close position.

1. Disconnect the unit from the electrical

2. Pull out and unclip the drip tray on the ice
and water dispenser compartment.
3. Remove the screws from the ice and water

pull the ice tray out, you will see a silver thing in the back that turns the auger,, push the ice dispense button ( you might have to hold the door switch in) and see if it turns, if it does you need to replace your ice tray,, if it doesn't you will need to replace the solenoid or the motor itself

GE side by side, ice will not come thru the door dispenser. Water comes out just fine Please do not SPAM my email - this is my work email

With these side by side ice makers there is a coil rod inside the ice tray. Somebody might pulled out some ice from the tray and it is not set straight. Try this, open the door and look to see if your ice has fused together. Break up the ice. Pull out the ice tray and look for ice blocking your coil. Look for ice blocking the route the ice travels. Replace the ice tray and make sure it sits in square and all the way back on the lips it sits on. Close the door and see if this works. Let me know if it does, if not let me know the model / number so I can provide you with more info.

The water solinoid is not sending water to my ice tray

Had the same problem. As long as the ice machine is still moving, meaning its working but just no water is getting to the ice tray.  order part #2205762 valve, solenoid and change it out.  It is not hard to do if you pay attention to how you take the old one out.

Ge, tfx26kpda ww, ice maker only dispences crushed ice

At least yours is making ice. Mine wount even make ice. While toubleshooting my prob, I notice a metal rod on the bottom of the ice tray. This rod opens and shuts a plastic "trap door" in the tray. The position of that door determines whether the ice is crushed or whole. If the trap door is open the ice falls through the dispenser freely. If the door this closed the ice is force thorugh metal teeth where it is crushed then dispensed. Open the freezer door and take the ice tray out. You should see a hole at the back of the freezer that the metal rod goes through. In that hole there is a plastic square that moves up and down. If the set your dispenser to crushed ice, leave the door open, push in the door switch at the bottom, and press the dispenser. The plastic square does nothing while the motor is turning. That allows the door to stay closed and forces the ice through the metal teeth. If you set the dispenser to whole ice and do the same thing the plastic square is suppose to lift up forcing the door open and letting the whole ice drop freely. The plastic square probably does nothing even if you set it to whole ice. That mean the trap door never opens focing the ice to always get crushed.

Unfortunately, I have no solution because mine works and I had no need to investigate further. I hopes this helps you figure out the problem though

Good Luck.

In door water and ice cube not working

Water dispenser is a simple touch switch in door energizing a solenoid water valve behind ventilation grate above refrigerator. Water tube runs down into and ends at ice dispenser chute. Should hear solenoid click at top of fridge when activate water touch switch. Can unhook discharge side of solenoid valve temporarily to prove water output. If water dispenser tube acts blocked it could be frozen where it ends-look up the hole at the bottom of refrigerator control buttons.
Ice maker is totally different system. No clicking when push ice button but ice in bulk tray may mean the simplest of malfunctions: Ice bin not pushed in the last half inch if ice auger not lined up with drive pegs. There are hidden switches behind ice bin that need to be engaged or nothing will happen in the ice maker: no auger noise, no clicking, no new ice making. Ice bin will be flush with sheet metal if it is in the right spot. Also plastic juice rack won't hang properly if ice bin not pushed in all the way.

Ice maker water dispenser is stuck in the on position

The problem is fixed. I think the drinking cup jarred the push bar activator, causing it to be stuck in the on position. After pushing this activator, it cleared the problem. Thanks for your follow up.

Ice dispenser only dispenses crushed ice

You may not need to replace the solenoid.  If you hear the hum, and not a loud click and don't see then rod move, it may be frozen with ice.  Test it manually with your hand, it should be free  to move up and down.  If not, then it is frozen with ice.  Remove the ice dispenser and let it thaw and dry out.  You should then be able to move to rod and it will work fine, at least until it freezes again.  Anyone know how to prevent it from freezing up? Its a continual problem for me
