I have a Toshiba 46HM95 DLP TV.When powering up, there is a light fan sound, but no picture and no other sound. The red light stays on and the green light flashes 16 times and the unit turns off then powers back on. What could this be?

Hi
It sounds lamp is defective in your tv that needs to be replaced.
If lamp in tv has not been replace in last 2-3 years then replace it as it got broke or became dead and causing problem.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and would be written in tv user manual. Required Lamp is available HERE, click for price info.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

Could it also be the color wheel?

  • Anonymous Aug 19, 2010

If its color wheel, lamp will lit for a while then shuts off. Check lamp's bright light at back of tv near exhaust duct.

Where are toshiba dlp 62hm95 fuses

I looked at the power board online and I do not see any glass fuses.
I only saw the pico fuses which you unsolder and resolder.
Here's an image of the power board: http://tvpartsandmore.com/wp-content/uploads/imported/46HM95-TOSHIBA-23764257-POWER-SUPPLY-UNIT-46HM95-52HM95-62HM15A-62HM95-62HMX95-191208846050.jpg

Sounds as though the system may have overheated. Do you regularly check the filters and clean them? An airduster can also help to blow dust out of hard to reach places.

hello When the TV has been powered on long enough for the lamp unit to get hot, it may take several minutes for
the picture to appear on-screen. See "IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT HOT LAMP R
When the TV has been powered on long enough for the lamp unit to get hot, it may take several minutes for the picture to appear on-screen
in the following situations:
• When the Quick Restart™ feature is set to OFF and you turn the TV off and then on again within a few minutes.
• If the TV is on when a short-term power failure, power surge, or other similar power failure occurs, such that the TV loses and regains
power within a few minutes.
This is a property of DLP TV lamp technology and is NOT a sign of malfunction.
If this occurs, the green LED on the TV front panel will blink (and the red LED will be lit solid) until the TV is finished restarting the lamp
and the normal picture appears. If BOTH green and red LEDs are blinking at a one-second rate, you will need to turn the TV off and then
on again to restart the lamp.
