Need to know the area, distance/terain/building structure to the nearest ISP tower.. Sadly a very difficult question to answer. Best bet to ask a local ISP, because it depends on how far away from the isp node you are..

Which linksys device? what are you trying to do? Connect it to a DSL use it as a DSL or connect it to some other internet source.
Please be more specific.
But I can say now that if you are able to order Internet service in your area the most any router/modem such as a links will work.
My father lives in a very rual area of south eastern Iowa, he was able to order DSL service through a small company there who provided their own modem, we then connected that modem to a Linksys WAP54G so he can have wireless. Now he is able to surf wirelessly while sitting in the corn field near his house.

What is your review of Panchayat Development Minister in Chhattisgarh?

Nearly the whole world has never heard of him, sorry.

Also since there is no problem here to be solved by Fixya, your post (and possibly him too) is a waste of space.

I just bought a pair of Cobra Micro Talk CX110 two-way radios. I am unable to hear anything on them except the beeps when I power them on, adjust the volumes, and or change the frequency channel. Coul

Hi Javier,

Firstly, have you put fresh batteries into your radio (TOY)?

If so, what area do you live in? Is it within a built-up area or in a rural area?

Do you live in an area that is hilly, mountainous or has tall bulidings around your location?

I ask these questions, because it matters.

these radios like some proper 2-ways work on a LINE-OF-Sight basis, that means simply, as long as there are no obstructions between you and the person(s) you are trying to contact, the signal should work, but distance is a factor in rural areas.

Reply with answers to my questions, so I can find a solution for you.

Regards,
Peter

How do I get my wireless internet connection to work? I live in a rural area and NETGEAR is the only option with at least 3 bars. Where do I find my network security key? I'm a definite rookie here....

If you live in the rural area and you have a broadband connection/modem connected to the Netgear wireless router, then I suggest you look at my instruction on how to configure the wireless router with encryption (security) - click on this link for instructions. :-

Rural addresses - Township & Range roads

With the Garmin Mapsource program just type in the name of the road and search. It shows up, and it's not saskatoon but corman park, although near to saskatoon, it's actually in a different area. This also happens when cities grow and small rural area's become part of the bigger picture, it's stil located where it historically was...looking for places can be sort of tedious. If I need to go somewhere, If i can't find it I ask for coördinates...the other way of getting there...A friend of mine lives on kitely line near jasper in Ont. the GPS knows the place as Line 3...huh?
