Have the same problem. Went and bought an oven thermometer from Lakeland and found that when the top oven thermostat was set to 160, the temperature only got to 140. I did clean the sensor inside the oven using a cleaner from Lakeland which did improve matters but it is still running cooler that it should. ( It takes at least 20 to 30 mins to warm up)

I have a Frigidaire oven that's does not heat up to high temp.

If your Frigidaire oven is not heating up to the high temperature, there could be a few possible causes:
  1. The thermostat may be malfunctioning: The thermostat controls the temperature of the oven and if it's not working correctly, it could prevent the oven from reaching the high temperature.
  2. The heating element may be malfunctioning: If the heating element is not working properly, the oven may not be able to reach the high temperature.
  3. The control board may be malfunctioning: If the control board is not functioning properly, it may not be sending the correct signals to the heating element or thermostat, preventing the oven from reaching the high temperature.
  4. The oven may be in a cleaning or self-cleaning cycle: when the oven is in a cleaning cycle, the temperature is raised to a high level to clean the interior of the oven.
  5. The oven may be in a energy saver mode: some ovens have a energy saver mode that decrease the temperature by a certain degree to save energy.

Oven not heating up

What is the thermostat neon doing? Is it staying on, or not on at all? If it stays on then the element has failed. If it is not on at all, then it could be that the element has failed and taken out the thermostat as well. If the neon is not on at all, it could also mean that the thermostat has failed by itself. If it is either of the two or both, the oven will have to come out of the kitchen carcas to replace the components. As a general rule, if the element fails you should replace the thermostat as well as the element failing can cause abnormal stress of the thermostat contacts, which then could fail at a later date. The handbook has the wiring diagrams in, so if you can find a tame electrician, he should be able to test and see what has failed before you buy anything. Try espares for parts.

Fan oven not getting warm

It is normally the element that has gone, located behind the fan. A long shot could be the thermostat. Have a look at the thermostat sensor. It will be located in the oven at the back somewhere. It should be clean and bright and not covered in dirt or grease etc. If it needs a clean, use a spray cleaner and do not treat it to harshly. The thin wire leading from it is quite fragile! However, if you decide to replace the heating element, I would suggest that you replace the thermostat as well because quite often the element blowing damages the thermostat, which could lead it to fail, it it hasn't already done so, at a later date.

Oven doesn't seem to heat up enough

There is a cooling fan In a STOVES 720 to keep the fabric of the oven cool. If this fails the overheat thermostats will cut in and shut the heating elements off. The cooling fan does in fact blow air out of various places in and around the doors. The top oven has a small element and takes a long time to warm up. If you are not confident that the thermostats are working correctly, then I suggest you purchase an oven thermometer from someone like Lakeland and see how that relate to what you are actually setting on the cooker dial. As I said the top oven leave a lot to be desired!

Just moved, can not get stoves double oven to work light and fan comes on both ovens but no heat

On the main oven, does the circulating fan at the back of the oven start to rotate when you switch it on and does the fan oven neon illuminate as well.
For the top oven, the heating element is not very big so the oven takes a long time to warm up. Does the top oven neon illuminate when you switch this on as well?

Main oven not heating up , fan running ,temp light on but no heat

I suspect that the oven element has failed, to check this, remove cover at rear of oven compartment, there you will see the round oven element, it should feel hot after turning oven on to heat, if it is cold, replace it.

Hi Top oven only gets warm no matter where you set

I have a 720ef and the top oven is not that good. The wattage rating is low, from memory about 750 watts and it takes a month of Sundays to warm up. I bought an oven thermometer from Lakeland a little while ago and when the top oven is turned on the Lakeland thermometer is showing that the oven thermomostat is running the oven at 20 degrees below what it is set to. If the thermostat neon is clicking off and on, then the thermostat/oven is working, albeit not as we expect.

Grill trips my electrics on Stoves 720EF

I had problems with tripping and it was a faulty RCB on the consumer unit. But it wasn't just one appliance causing the problem.
Have you isolated it to the top or bottom oven. If it is the main oven, then it could be anything associated with the operation of that component, i.e. the oven control knob, the oven thermostat, the element, the element fan, the overheat thermostat all could have insulation that is breaking down that could cause this problem.
Before you go and buy anything and if you have the time and patience and confident enough and know what you are doing, I would remove the oven from the cupboard, take off the top and back covers, note the wiring for the element, take the leads off the element and run the oven with the element disconnected and see what happens. That should prove whether it is the element or anything else.
BE CAREFUL.

Stoves 720ef electric double oven not working

According to the circuit diagram on page 31 of the handbook, power for the ovens passes through the clock. The power feed is direct for the actual clock but via a seperate Thermal Cutout for both the top and bottom ovens. I think it is highly unlikely that both Thermal Cutouts have failed at the same time. I would try turning the power off totally to the oven for a while and then turning it back on, set the time and ensure the oven is in manual mode. As the top and bottom ovens have seperate controls after the Programmer and both are not working, it has to be the programmer that is not extending the power through to the rest of the oven.
