Toilet flushes normally but when water retuns to the hole in the bottom of the bowl it make kind of a soft grwl noise. Is a problem developing?

Water is not draining completely from the toilet line to the sewage tank. If there is a 'low/little slope' section anywhere in that drain line, solids WILL settle and collect there and cause water to back-up in the toilet drain line. Then the toilet will not flush completely or at all until the 'soft blockage' is cleared out and the drain line emptied. Al 'gravity drain' toilets require a free draining/empty drain line that allows flush water to drain unrestricted. A basement toilet has a pump that 'forces' flush water up and out with enough pressure to sometimes force out the 'soft clog.'

The bowl is cracked and is leaking down the drain. You will have to replace it. It may have cracked if the bowl hold-down bolts were overtightened, or the bowl was not able to sit flush (pardon the pun) on the floor. If the bowl rocks when it is first installed, instead of tightening the hold-down bolts, use a couple of tapered shims under the edge of it, then caulk to fill the gap and hide the shims.

THERE ARE LOTS OF SMALL HOLES WHERE THE WATER COMES OUT OF IN THE RIM OF THE TOILET BOWL, SOME TIMES HARD WATER BLOCKES THES AND THEY NEED TO BE CLEANED. THEY CAN BE CLEANED USING A LARGE SEWING NEEDLE, PUSHING IT INTO THE HOLE UNTIL IT FEELS A BIT BIGGER, YOU WON'T DO DAMAGE AS IT IS VERY HARD METERIAL. a
AFTERWARDS TURN OFF THE WATER, AND LIFT THE VALVE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK AND PUT SOME TOILET ACID INTO IT. THIS WILL ALSO HELP CLEAN THE HOLES.

Try getting a bucket full of water and dumping it pretty rapidly into the toilet bowl. This is essentially what happens when the toilet is flushed normally, but it removes the variable of how the water is being delivered from the tank to the bowl. It should swirl and go charging down the drain, quickly leaving the bowl with very little water. If it does not act that way, then problem is definitely that the drain is obstructed. When you snaked it, you probably used a fairly short snake (about 10 feet?). Try a plunger - use a good one not the kind designed for sinks. Flush multiple times and get vigorous with it. If that doesn't clear it you will have to remove the toilet and use a much larger and longer snake (50 ft or more). good luck, Al K

My toilet had same problem:
I thought it was a clog in the drain pipe.
But the problem was clogged holes where water flushes into toilet bowl.

Here's how I fixed problem.
Purchase:
Gallon of CLR calcium-lime-rust remover from Home depot.
Pumice stone from hardware store.

Home supplies:
Cut off bottom of empty clorox bottle to make container for CLR
Old 3" paint brush you don't use for anything else to apply CLR
Small cup to pour CLR into toilet flapper opening

Steps:
Look inside toilet bowl under rim and see holes where water comes out
Use brush and apply CLR to holes where water comes out.
Use pumice stone to scrape ... pumice stone will not hurt toilet surface.
Flush toilet to clear holes so far.
Turn off water to toilet.
Open flapper to drain tank.
Keep flapper open.
Use cup and pour dose of CLR directly into flapper opening.
(You can also pour CLR down overflow tube... but flapper opening puts whole dose directly onto problem)
Pour another cup of CLR into opening.
Notice how CLR starts coming out the holes into bowl.
Pour CLR down flapper hole until it runs easy and fast out of holes.
Close flapper, turn on water, toilet fixed.

It depends on the design. Some of these have a flapper with a hole in the cylinder on the bottom side. Watch the flapper as you flush normally. You will see a few bubbles come out of the hole and the flapper will drop before the tank is empty.

If this is the case, you can plug the little hole with something, or buy a new flapper without the hole.

FIRST CHECK THE WATER LEVEL INSIDE THE TANK. MAKE SURE IT IS INLINE WITH THE MARK INSIDE THE TANK. SECOND, GET A TOILET BRUSH AND SCOUR UNDER THE TOILET RIM AND DOWN THRU THE BOWL AS FAR AS POSSIBLE. USE " Comet Bathroom Cleaner", "Soft Scrub Original", "Bon Ami". BY ENSURING U HAVE THE CORRECT WATER LEVEL AND THE HOLES UNDER THE RIM AND THE BOWL IS CLEAN, THE FLUSH SHOULD IMPROVE. DON'T FORGET TO MAKE SURE THE FLAPPER VAVLE OPENS AS IT SHOULD TO ALLOW WATER TO FLOW INTO THE BOWL EFFICIENTLY.

flush time depends on how much water is in it,
the water level flote has an adjuster on it, but i cant rember were it is,,, sorry

make sure water level is sat at factory settings. there should be a black line that reads WATER LEVEL. If this is not the problem. then you have calci buildup. get a gal. of muratic acid,plunge all water out of toilet bowl. then dump in at least 1/2 gal. let set over nite. with water turned off. get up turn on water then flush. You mite have to do it twrice. hope this helps you.... duane.

2 possibilities.

1) The diaphragm in the Sloan is for a urinal. (1.0gal vs. 1.6gal);

2) Not enough water. (stop partially closed, supply undersized)
