Mitsubishi WS-65613 65" Rear Projection HDTV Logo
Posted on Aug 16, 2010

I have a 65 inch Mitsubishi rear projection HD TV. The screen went blank today. I have cable hooked up to the componant input and I get no sound or audio. If I hit input a few times I get static sound when I get the the antenna input but I can't see anything. The TV worked great till this morning. I was able to get a picture back for a few minutes this morning, then it crashed again. Any ideas?

Does the input menu appear on the screen when you press input? If so its probably the IC Regulator 9v supplying the video board. If the green light on the front is blinking then powering off it is one of the 7 capacitors and you should just replace them all, 30-35 bucks. If the power stays on and its just your video isnt coming on(audio as well) it is the IC Regulator. Mine called for the part - BA09FP IC REGULATOR 9V It is about half the size of a pinky nail and located directly behind the video input board in the back of the tv. It has two prongs on the left side and one wide tab on the right. It solders directly to the top of the board and not through it. It says BA09 on the chip. This fixed the problem for me.

Add hdmi port to mitsubishi ws-65807

I doubt it as it was never designed for that kind of input, Component works best on this set and it should have only one HD input for a box marked in the menu as DTV.

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

How do i hook up hd to the tv

Your television has component inputs. You need an up-scaling DVD player or another source that uses component cables and will have an output of 1080i (your televisions max resolution)

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65513 65 in. rear projection HDTV. I recently hooked up a DVD player to the Component 2 cable inputs but I cannot find the Component 2 selection on the 'Device menu' to tell the TV...

If one or more of the inputs is "missing" or not there you may need to do a hard reset of the TV with the original remote.

If you want to try this confirm the actual model number and I will tell you how to do it.

I would like to know if I can connect a HDMI cable from My tv model WS-65315 to a Direct TV HD receiver?

NO> If your TV supports and have HDMI connections and your HD receiver has an HDMI output then you should have no problem displaying Video. Just make sure you change the input signal of your television to HDMI input. After looking at the spec's of this model these are the following inputs you have. your best picture quaity would be to use componet cables instead, which can show full screen 1080i format, your television does not show at 1080p whis is what HDMI is known for.
Connectors
Rear Input Connectors S-Video x 2 - Component x 3 - Composite x 2 - DVI x 1 - RF x 2 - 1 x RS-232C - Audio (RCA) x 6

Front Input Connectors S-Video x 1 - Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1

Rear Output Connectors Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1 - RF x 1

Another good option is use to use a DVI to HMDI connector and hook it up this way. But note: you will have to use audio cables for the DVI input.

Hoe to set my tv to hd

You don't set your TV to HD, you connect an HD source to it via either a component input or HDMI or DVI connection. I fyour TV has its own HD tuner, then you'll need to connect a good antenna or cable system to it.

HDTV CABLE NOT HOOKED UP/WORKING

COMP 1 and 2 are for 480i/p sources. Hook it to the 1080i capable on the back. Also make sure the HD DVR is outputting 1080i not 720p. The Mits can not disply 720p and will show a scrambled screen if you try to.

Great Picture But No sound

Good Day;

Look in owners manual pages 28-35, pay special attention to page 31 and make sure the antenna is connected to ANT-DTV input. Good Luck, big IRISH.

No Picture from Component Input #1 or #2 but do have audio via Surrond Sound

Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

Sony 57 Inch XBR 2001

I don't have the XBR, but on my sony, using the cable box remote, I had to go into menu/display/etc. and mark the 1080i, 720p, and 480i settings. you usually get a "if you can see this" comment if your tv accepts the settings. for standard tv i set the screen to normal, and when the upper channels go to HD, they auto go to full screen. Sounds like you are using the component cable, and also make sure you are on the video port of remote, and the the TV input. The above worked for mine. Hope it helps.
