If you have an extra toner change the toner if that does not work then it is most likely the formatter board and will need to be replaced or fixed this is not a permanent solution if this works order the formatter board asap here is the part No.Q7848-61006 this is with a network card and can be used with n and dn models. now let's get started with fixing the hp p3005dn remove the formatter board and heat up 2 chips as shown in the picture provided. you can heat using a hair dryer at low air and full heat or use a hot air gun but be careful not to overheat and blow chips off the board. after heat repair let it cool and put formatter board back.

Hp laserjet p2055dn blank display

Similiar Blank Display solution from HP web site:

HP LaserJet P3005 Printer Series - Blank Display
ISSUE: Printer has a blank display.
SOLUTION:

Check if the printer is connected directly into a wall outlet. If not directly connected, power off the printer and connect directly to wall outlet.

Disconnect any local or network connection from any device and keep the printer connected with the power cord cable.

Power cycle the printer. If the issue persists, continue with step 4. If the printer powers up to READY, perform the following steps:

Print a configuration page and check the firmware version. If the printer does not have the latest firmware version, upgrade the printers firmware. Click here to see the latest firmware available for your printer at www.hp.com/go/support . Select Download driver and software (and firmware) and type in the product name or select the product from the product category list.

When the firmware upgrade is completed, power cycle the printer and print a configuration page again and check firmware date code, (it should change to the latest version) then power cycle the printer again.

If the printer powers up to READY, plug the local or network cable back in and print a Windows test page by printing from any application.

If the issue persists, continue with step 4 below.

Remove any additional memory DIMM installed (usually the LaserJet P3005N, DN and X come with a 32 MB memory DIMM installed), and any Internal EIO card or internal hard disk installed and then power cycle. If the issue persists, continue with the next step.

Perform a cold reset:

Turn the device off.

Turn the device on. When the memory count begins, press and hold the check button. Continue holding down the check button until all three device control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds

After the message SELECT LANGUAGE appears on the display, press the arrow up or arrow down buttons until COLD RESET is highlighted.

Press the check button. The device performs a cold reset and then continues its power-on sequence.

If the issue persists, continue with the remaining steps.

If the printer powers up to READY, test the printer functionality by printing internal pages. Plug the local or network connection in and test the printer from the workstation.

If the issue persists without any internal device installed, the printer will require service.

HP P3005 is taking forever to print the first page (20 seconds). If I hook it up to my laptop it works fine (5 seconds at most for the first page)

Go to www.hp.com/#support.
Find the firmware for your printer and download it.
Find the drivers for your printer and download them

My laserjet p3005 is not printing properly. there are 6 blank horizontal stripes across the page.

This is almost always going to be the toner cartridge. Swap it out if you have a spare. If not even if you have an empty one, just shake it a bit and put it back in to see if the blank lines go away. It is at least 90% chance or better that the problem is in the cartridge.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

It switches on and initializes checks all catridges and then prints papers that where sent to print a day a go and then it says Error 49:4c2d turn off then on

The P3005 is known to have problems with a chip on the formatter, gives various errors to include the 49.2d9d, blank display and others. HP has not issued a recall or service advisory but is fully aware of failure of the chip on the formatter. Repair for this is to print a configuration page, replace the formatter board, bring the machine back up in service mode and put in the correct serial, service code and page counts into the new formatter's nvram memory.

Liberty Parts Team at lbrty.com has refurbished formatters at reasonable pricing with no return core to worry about. The PIN needed to access the service mode is 10300506.

Other problems with the P3005 are grinding in the fuser area, correctable by removal of the fuser, replacement of the 4 accessable gears in the side (left as you look into the back) and the main gear on the fuser then put the fuser back in and should be good.

Service manual available for free at feedroller.com - down the left navigation bar near the bottom is an icon and link to service manuals in PDF. No need to make someone on ebay rich selling copyrighted pdfs.

HP P3005 - skid marks along paper's edge

Print 3 pages. Use the manual feed tray. As they print, open the cover, remove the toner and look down at the paper in the printer. Do you see marks along the edge? If no...replace the fuser. If yes...it could be the transfer roller.
