Only used my trimmer 5 times since I had, trimmed my hedges 2 times last year & twice this year. After done doing my hedges, I put on my weed trimmer when finished & holding my trimmer in idle it shut off by its self.Now it will not let me pull the rope to start.

Most chargers will show a green light when charged

That could take an hour

You have to or I do,charge all my items every 3 months

Not uncommon to have a failed battery in less than a year

Ideally four years & fair amount of use,but some do fail

On my petrol strimmer you have to "bump" the real while it is spinning. It may be the same with the electrical version.

The likely issue is the gear pin has been sheared. The part is no longer available from Craftsman. (P/N from sears: 616255-001)

I had a similar issue with a similar electric trimmer. I removed the old pin and used a split pin and ground it down to the proper size. It's now worked for about 2 years just fine. This requires complete dis-assembly.

50:1 is 50:1 no matter whose 2 cycle mix you use. 50:1 is 2.6 ounces of 2cycle mix to 1 gallon (US) of gasoline. I recommend strongly to use a brand that contains fuel stabilizer. It will come in a 3.2 ounce bottle...still 50:1. The premium 2 cycle oils will be semi-synthetic or full synthetic and will claim "no smoke"

Oftentimes it helps to use scissors to trim back a portion of the new line. Start at the bottom and cut upwards at an angle. Put some lubricant (WD40, perhaps) on the line and slide the sharp point into the fuel tank. Using needle nose pliers, grab the line and pull it through. This will only work if you have the correct size line. If the new line you are using is too large, you probably can't pull it through.
