Hello. I'm a little confused at the description of the problem. You indicated it, "will not agitate during wash cycle or spin during the spin cycle." But later in your description you indicated, "It will however, drain and spin after wash cycle and during the rinse cycle." I'm not sure if you description was an error but it sounds like you will need to replace the coupling which is part number 285753A.
Those parts you can check 1/ strings holding the drum were broken causing drum unbalancing when it spins. 2/ Drum bearing also gone. (noise) 3/ 3 slides that located underneath the triangle frame need replaced.
This is usually caused by the pressure switch. Here is a link with the other possible problems. To check the pressure switch follow the link to the video. http://appliancehelponline.com/topwashernospin.html
HI There Try this even tho you said it's balanced. Sometimes it looks like but a slight unbalanced can cause this problem. It's noisyMost
noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear
loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become
unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start
it. Repeat these steps if necessary. Let me know how this goes and thank you for writing to fix ya. Best Regards Richard
Most washer tubs are suspended by heavy rubber O-rings. These do fail with age so that the tub is not being held centered anymore.
I suspect one of them has failed or come off during a severely unbalanced load.
I have the same kenmore and have experience this before. It is unbalanced. Get a spirit level to check for balance. To rebalance, empty the washer (so it's not heavy), lean over the washer and grab the back, tilt it forward and the auto balancing legs should reposition themselves. Re-check for balance using the spirit level. If still out, adjust the front feet of the washer by screwing the legs up or down (using a wrench). This will cure the problem (unless you have a very unbalanced load of towels for instance). Good luck
