YouTube has teardown videos of it that may show the board well enough to see the color bands.

There is a major problem with the fan's electronic board. There is most likely a shorted capacitor, or some sort of fried transistor somewhere. depending on your electronics know how, try troubleshooting the circuit starting with it's power supply/input. but depending on the price of the fan, and the amount of aggrivation, I would just get a new one. Remember, most of the newer appliances today are ment to only last a few years, then die. I don't care what it is. all the companies want to do is make them as cheaply as possible, so they can sell more of them, and make more money. so don't be surprised if you can't fix it. some things are just not fixable.

Try YouTube 'stop the beeping' video for this fan, it shows the circuit board, may show the color bands on the resistor in question.

Car A/C blower resistor always broken

its quite possible the fan motor is on its way out and is pulling to much load on the fan resistor , alternatively the resitor is often housed near the fan housing so that the fan air blows on it while operational to cool it down when fan is on

I have a 2003 hyundai elantra and the fan for the heater just stopped working on all speeds but high.

hi from uk this is most likely from your symptom that the resistor on the heater fan has gone faulty as only works on max speed all other speeds are regulated by resitor this is a unit that can be replaced and usually accessed on removal of glove compartment normally attached to side of h/motor hope this helps

'99 Plymouth Grand Voyager fan switch issues

The problem is not with the switch, it's the blower motor resistor. The resistor is usually located in duct work near the blower motor. It will have 4or 5 wires going to it and is held in place with a couple screws. These things generate heat, so they put them in duct work so the fan blows air across them to keep them cool. Sometimes the plug gets hot and melts, you should be able to buy the resitor and the plug with wires (pig tail) from an auto parts store or a dealer. The resistors are usually about $50 the pig tail is about $30.

Amp repair advice

check on the board to see if there is a resistor that looks similar, 90% of amps amps are matched in there design, meaning the left side is usally a carbon copy of the right, so if you look at one side and there is a resistor that looks like it's in the same spot on the other side, good chance thats the same one, read the colors off the one thats not burnt up. resistors come in different wattages,1/8,1/4 1/2 up to 10 watts, each wattage is a different size, most of the ones you see in the amp are 1/4 watt but some are 1/2 and 1/8. some on the output are 2 to 5 watt, but those are generally 10-18 mm in length, they are big ones you cant miss those. so once you get the color code, read the colors, ex red, gree, brown, last line is either silver or gold, that will tell you the resitor value. then google resistor color codes and then you can match the color sequence with the value codes, and that will tell you the value you need in ohms but then you have to get the size 1/4 watt resistors are generally about 6 mm in legnth, im measuring the actual part of the resistor not including the metal leads, just the body, so if its larger its probally a 1/2 watt if smaller its an 1/8 watt, 1/8 watt are about 4 mm. now go buy the resistor, but you might find it that tough, if its a common value radio shack might have it, but resistors are so cheap, pennies for a handful, good luck on your search.

1999 cavalier z24 lower 2 fan settings not working. i have already replaced the resistors.

It has to be the resistor but you may have a bigger problem. if the fan motor is pulling to much power it may burn out the new resistor as fast as you put them in.
I suggest since you have to take the fan out to get to the resitor purchase a used fan at the wreckers and replace both. That should solve your problem. You can be assured our new resistor is burned out again.

Rheostat (rotary switch) is faulty. Take it apart, and clean with electrical contact degreaser, or pencil eraser and re-try.
