There should be just some sort of snaps, or hooks holding the guard on. I have yet to see a fan that doesn't. but if there is any, take the clips off of the guard, and clean the blades.

We purchased a Hunter Fanaway Fan and love it. Only problem, how do we clean the baldes?

How to clean the Fanaway Fan
It's very easy to clean the blades of the Fanaway fan, simply pull the blades out when the fan is turned off. You need to hold onto two blades and slowly pull them out in the same direction that the blades would usually open, the mechanism is fairly tight so you need to use a bit of pressure to pull them out. Make sure you pull both two blades at the same time as pulling one could cause damage as the pressure is too much over the 1 blade. Once you have them out you can wipe them down with warm soapy water or Windex on a cloth.

Cleaning black wood fan blades for casablanca fan

I have had good results using a product called Scott's
Liquid Gold. It's available in many stores including grocery stores. I started using it to clean up console televisions after repairing them. Make sure you wipe it clean after using it. The residue will attract dust if you don't. It's sort of a "super Pledge"

Regards.

Blades vibrating

The fan blades have to be balanced for it to run smoothly.
This website looks like it's straight from 1995, but the instructions are good and you should be able to rebalance your fan without too much trouble.

FAN MODEL# 1010 MP

Hello

This would seem to be the motor heating up and cutting out on a thermal overload. Check to see if the motor area is clean and that the fan blades are clean. To clean the motor you can blow compressed air through it. To clean the blades disassemble the cover remove the blade and clean with a mild soapy solution.

Honeywell HFD 135 FAN BLADES DIRTY

I used a can of compressed air to clean my fan blades and this did the job. I bought a 6-pack of 3M Dust Remover at Sams Club to save money. Hope this helps.
