Haven't used our TV in six mos. It turned on OK but five minutes later turned off; but five minutes later turned on again but then turns off five minutes later. What to do? New TV or let it warm up?

Check all the connections of the flat cables inside the TV. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have a 60' Samsung projection model# HLT6176SX/XAA. The tv was working fine until it just turned off on us. We unplugged the tv and turned it back on. 20 minutes later it turned off again and...

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the tv there are few capacitors and IC.any of this ic is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.

Hope this will help in solving the problem...

Power turn off after 45 minutes to 1 hour used

Check the "Sleep Timer" settings. If set to 45 minutes then TV would automatically turn itself off 45 minutes from being turned on. The variance in the "on" times is due to the TV turning itself off after not getting a signal from the remote for fifteen minutes.

Good luck,

Color changes

Your tv has three crt guns that correspond to how it makes colors.

If its just one color acting weird it might be the crt gun for red. That sucks cause it will be hard to replace. I think its possible to fix it but it might not be worth it... Sorry...
