You'll need:
•VGA cable
•S-Video Audio to 3 RCA Type Adapter Cable
•HDMI cable
•DVI cable
Check the connection options on your TV. If your TV has a VGA connection slot, plug the TV into the computer with a VGA cordlike a computer monitor. Connect one end of the VGA cable to the back of the computer and the other end to the TV. Switch between normal TV viewing to displaying your computer on your TV by selecting the proper mode from the remote control, some remotes will mark the proper mode as "VGA" while others will label it "Computer" or "PC."
Check the back of your computer to see if you have an S cable slot. Connect S cable portion of the S-Video Audio to 3 RCA Type Adapter Cable to the computer and plug in the green audio plug to the audio port of the PC. Plug the red white and yellow RCA cables into the matching colors of the RCA slots on the TV. With this method you will need to switch modes from TV to video.
Check the back of the computer and TV for either DVI or HDMI slots. The slots on your computer must match, you cannot connect a DVI to a HDMI. Plug one end of the corresponding cable into the the back of the TV and the other end into the computer. Choose the correct program mode, HDMI or DVI, from the remote to view the computer from the TV.

Dell Dimension 2400 manual

Unless your TV has a VGA socket (it should be blue, have many pins and look just like the one on your computer monitor,) and an audio-in jack (it'll look something like a 3.5mm headphone jack,) you cannot connect the PC to your TV without other accessories. If it DOES have those ports though, just buy a two-ended headphone cable and an SVGA connector cable (unless you can use the one from your computer monitor,) from Monoprice.com, hook them up, hit 'input' on your remote with both TV and PC on and you're in business! Best of luck with it!

Connect pc to tv.

Your TV will need an HDMI or VGA (15 pin) connector on the back, plus you'll need a matching connector on your PC. Get the right cable (eg VGA Male:Male) and connect them up. Then just set you TV input to PC.

I have a philips tv model 47pfl5704d. what cable

IF, your PC indeed supports TV out, then the Cable usually is SVGA or RCA, connectors. The PC must be configured to activate BOTH screens, ie: enable desktop, to be spanned or mirrored, , the Resolution on TV should only generally be set to 800x600. The correct Drivers must be installed. Must connect to TV before ya start PC too.

My desktop pc has brocken down and I want to extract the files off the hard drive.I do have a laptop. Can anyone help please.

Well, you will need to know the interface type of the desktop hard drive - IDE (sometimes called ATA or PATA) or SATA. You will need to get an external enclosure for that hard drive that you can then connect to your laptop, so you also need to know how you can make that connection (USB, FireWire, eSATA). You then need to remove the hard drive from the desktop, install it in the enclosure, connect it to your laptop and install any necessary drivers. At that point, the hard drive is added to Windows Explorer and you can copy or move files as you please.
