I would like help from someone as to how to configure my Modem (HUAWEI SmartAx MT882), with Microsoft Windows VISTA to run on USB port.
The modem runs on the ethernet port very fine but I'm not able to install and locate its driver to run it through USB.
Please provide me some clue/solution to get it solved. It make it impossible for me to simultaneously be connected to my broadband connection & to be connected on LAN with other devices, as I've only 1 Ethernet port in my Laptop.
Please Assist.

I am using one smatAX MT 882 modem supplied by BSNL for my desk top computer using XP with PPPOE(Point to point protocol over ehernet). When I am trying to run the driver with my VISTA LAP TOP, it is not getting loaded. Can any body provide some solution?

i m using mt882 model of mtnl n m gtng speed f 2mbps but when i download somethng i got speed only 32kb/sec in most f the sites..but accordng to 2mbps the downloadng speed must be f 200kb/sec....so plz solve my problm as soon as posibl...

To install the modem in Vista, you don't need the CD. Because that Cd won't work in vista. They says it on the letter. You type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar, and press enter. If it asks for user name and password, type in admin for both user and pass. Then click on basic, then Wan settings, then click on the pencil icon on the right side. Then type in your username and password your ISP gave you. Not the username and password admin. Its different. Username will be [email protected]. For example if my land phone number is 02380123456 the username will be [email protected]. Password will be given in the letter when you join the broadband company for example Talktalk.
After you typed your username and password, click on the magnifying glass icon on the bottom and on the inactivity timeout(mins) put dots on always on. Then click on submit button on the small window. Then click submit again on the larger window. There! you have done it.
Hi, Sorry but after flipping the net on its back it is clear that your in a bit of a spot. There is plans of introducing Vista Driver for this widely used modem.
You might just need to grin & bear it - and maybe buy an additional PCMCIA ethernet card, to be connected to the net & LAN at same time.
According to their manual for the MT882 this product wasn't shipped with drivers.

I am also having same issue and facing same problem, I am not able to install the software to my new vista laptop at the end of the installtion it through the error messange contant u r tenchial support. and system gets restart, so any body can help me how to connect to lan cable i dont know how to connec to the LAN cable.lan setting details

Hey, i face problem while running the modem over ethernet. The cd contains pppoe driver for XP, which doesnt work with Vista. I installed the dialer, along with pppoe driver for XP, but it says "device found but couldn;t connect.
