'Welcome to your remote'

My Harmony 550 is totally frozen and all it says is 'Welcome to your remote'. How do i solve this?

    Yup - I have exactly the same problem.
    I had just programmed the unit, it worked for few hours and then
    it just displayed 'Welcome to your remote'
    Removing/replacing batteries - no effect
    Tried holding the 2 button while inserting the batteries - no effect
    Removing the batteries for 24 hours - no effect

    Anyone have any suggestions ?

    You all saved my sanity. My Harmony 550 wouldn't work screen was the same as always but nothing. And mine was the play buttonn Thanks to all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same as above. stuck button. gave the whole thing a good whack and it came back to life.

appears my #8 (or was it #0) button was stuck and my remote was doing the same thing. easy fix, and problem solved.

I had this problem on a 555 - I tried everything and then realised that the green button at the bottom had got wedged in.

Releasing the button was all it took to be able to then click the "right arrow" button and move on from the "Welcome to your remote" button.

Does the 550 have a "sync" button to finalize the data installed during online programming and/or did you follow all the steps to complete the proramming for the 550? If you did, and it still doesnt work, I suggest contacting the staff at Logitech or bringing it back to the dealer from whom you bought it for the purpose of clarification or return. Or, maybe the dealer can program it for you.

Harmony 550 quit responding as I watched a blu-ray movie.
Hi. The 'Welcome to Your Remote' messageon a H550 means that there is a button that is stuck down on the remote.

1. Take out the battery, and push in and massage each button to ensure it is not stuck down.
2. Put the battery back in, update the firmware. To do this, log in to the software, click 'Downloads' at the top and 'Firmware'
3. Update the remote.


That should get the remote working! :)

My remote for the harmony 550 says welcome to remote even after I replaced old batteries with brand new batteries. No buttons will work any suggestions?
First I would check to see if any of your buttons are sticking. I have found that this is a common problem with the 550 remote. I really like this remote but if nothing works check your buttons to see if any are pressed under the plastic. This remote can only work one button at a time so if one is being pressed it will not work.

Remote is frozen . After welcome to your remote, nothing moves. This is a remote that I have had for a year. I have changed the batteries, and updated the sofeware.
Leave the batteries out for an hour or so to make sure that everything is reset & try it again. Ensure that the batteries are working correctly, even if new, you can get faulty ones.

To get your 550 out of safe mode, follow these steps. 1. Remove the batteries. 2. Hold the '2' button down. 3. While still holding the '2' button down, replace the batteries. 4. The remote will boot into the normal functionality. Note: If the 'Off' button is held down while inserting the batteries, the remote will boot into 'Safe Mode'. Frozen Harmony 550
Hi. You will need to update the firmware.

1. In the software, click "Downloads"
2. Click on "Firmware."
3. Update the remote

That should fix it!

Remote appears frozen
I got the same issue with mine, and hooking to the computer and upgrading the firmware worked for me. I first had to take the bateries out and let it sit for 24 hours so it would loose the codes inside. No problems after that.
