Drum now makes a huge loud noise when in spin cycle. just started...front loader frigidaire gallery. seems the drum is "loose" I can move it with my hand back and forth...washer is 10 years old. THanks.

Do you know what # to call for Frigidaire. I think that my bearings may be shoot. Making a lot of noise when spinning and a clunking noise when agitating and a gritty material came out in the water into the wash tub.
The bearings are worn out ,it's not worth to repair , the fact that your washer is old it's going to have more problems.

Thanks! My washer lasted 10 years, this was the only problem. I've read where people had trouble after 3 - 4 years (switches, pumps, etc). This was my only problem, although it's a fatal one.

I experience the same problem and the repairman told us that the tub is loose and the struts and spin basket is broken, with an estimated cost of $500 - $600.00. I also had a problem with the machine not spinning - twice had to get a repairman to fix, the first time shortly after the purchase, Thank God it was still under warranty, and the other time it happened a year ago.It seems a shame that after 9 years the washing machine is broken. What happened to quality.
