Could not locate your model number. However, Check fill tube for icemaker inside the freezer. Iced solid? replace water valve. No ice in fill tube? Get correct model number and resubmit your request.

Filters themselves don't usually leak. Check full insertion of filter, cracked filter housing or cracked supply line.

depending on the brand and the style, locate the filter and change it out. Please note that you must empty out the remaining water from the refrigerator cause if you don't, when you change out the filter you might get the same taste for a while until all the remaining water is replaced by freash water.

filter its on the kick plate @ the bottom of the freezer door,push the side button and the filter unlocks

It doesn't matter if a whirlpool or any other brand is new or not, if you don't use an inlet water filter the water will taste like **** and sediment will deposit and cause catastrophic ice maker and water dispenser failure.

check water valve for ice maker how old is the ice maker is more than 3 years then it might need replacement as well
