How do you remove the freezer lightbulb from Maytag MFF2558KES..our manual was lost in a fire

Hi, To acess the light. Remove the plastic cover over light carefully. Replace bulb and your good to go.

On my Maytag bottom freezer French door model the filter is inside, at top right tubular form on "ceiling" with a tab on front says "push". Cartridge filter inside.

It looks like the cover clips on at the base of the bulb. This is a picture of the diagram, but I can't tell exactly how the clip works. The defrost drain hole in the bottom of the freezer has frozen over. Turn off the fridge. Remove the shelves and bins. Remove the rear panel of the freezer. You will see ice on the bottom rear of the freezer. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice,especially in the drain hole once you get through the surface ice. Once the drain hole is clear,pour a cup of hot water through the drain hole followed by 1/4 cup bleach. Re-install your parts and turn the fridge back on.

Is there frost on the back wall of the freezer about 1 foot from the bottom ? If so , then a defrost problem . Either a bad adaptive timer (electronic board in control section ) , a bad bimetal (locatod on top of the freezer coils. A small cylinder with 2 wires on it ) or a bad defrost heater . Usually , the adaptive timer is the problem .

Right-tighty, lefty loosey...that would be counter clockwise to remove, clockwise to insert. If the bulb is stuck, you may have to defrost the freezer (I know this sounds a bit extreme) to get it out easier. You may have some ice crystals keeping it lodged in the socket.
