I have a Sony Vaio laptop, model PCG-384L. It will not power up. My wife indicated that she push some button that lock the power. Can seem to find the button that controls or locks the power button. When I push the power button nothing happens. The LED light on the front of the machine flashes but will not power up.

You may have to replace cpu?

If it is not where you can see a slot on the side or back, I would bet it's under the keyboard. The Sony support page may have the answer.

Hello, The average life time of laptops batteries are usually 2-3 years, a good one before they start failing,they will not be able to last the number of hours they do last before, including your sony VAIO, but i must let you know also that the number of the lithium ion cells the battery is made of matters, for example a 6-1on cell, last more than 3, a 12-ion cell last more than 6 However you can get a replacement battery from any good computer stores nearest to your home. Or you can also order it online or if you have any sony stores around you, you can get it from there. But you can consider getting it online from reputable computer stores online. Regards

I GOT SONY VAIO PCG-384L LAPTOP AND IT KEEP ON CRASHING,

open the case at back of your notebook you will see the motherboard, look for the battery just a size of a coin, thats the cmos battery and replace it with a new one.

Plug the thing in and recharge the battery for about 6 hours then push the power button to turn the thing on.

i had the same prob this morning there are 3 things you can try

1 memery
2 proccessor
3 hard drive

if not any of them
try the dvd drive

if not that then try exsternal monitor if dont show on that then motherboard is gone

it means time to buy a new battery..it happens
