If it will start when you pour gas then its a fuel problem on some of these they have a screw at the bottom of the carb remove that and see if you have bad fuel. If that does not work then remove the carb and service it may just be a stuck float or something

Lincoln ranger 8 and kohler engine command 20. engine does not pull gas to carburetor. Putting little gas directly in carburetor; machine runs until finish gasoline inside carburator.

engines don't "pull" fuel to carb , it either gravity flows (tank over top carb) there or its pumped there , I do believe the kohler engines from 8 hp thru 25 hp use a vacuum activated fuel pump (three hoses on it) these do go bad over time and need replaced , also there are fuel filters on all these engines that need to be replaced seasonally they are not cleanable there disposable

Lawnmower starts and dies... where is the main jet for the carb?

try cleaning the air filter, then a touch of starting fluid right into the carburator by taking the air filter off. If it then starts but wont run or stay running, the reservoir below the carb should be removed to clean at and the pinhole in the intake tube above the bowl nut. This is the most common problem with lawnmower start problems, the pinhole can be unplugged with one wire from a wire brush. Be careful with the gas, at least pinch off the gas hose with a vise grips while removing the carb bowl.. Never use a droplight around gasoline. most lawnmowers have no mixture adjustments, so it is a matter of cleaning the carb, tank, gas lines. Some oils in gas mix systems settle and clog after less than one season.

Snapper lawnmower will not start - sparkplug is good, air filter clean, no idea what is wrong

Try a touch of starting fluid right into the carburator by taking the air filter off. If it then starts but wont run or stay running, the reservoir below the carb should be removed to clean at and the pinhole in the vertical intake tube above the bowl nut. Spark can be tested by sight, remove the plug and use a clip-on ground wire from spark plug body to metal on the engine with the plug wire connected.

Won't start

you have to performany of these:
1. open the sparkplug & clean it,or you can replace if it is not firing.
2.Clean the carburator, get a compresor or a manual air pump with pin (For ball) and triger directly to the tiny holes inside the carburator.
clean the gas filter becos it already might not flow the gas towards the carburator.

Lawnmower starts but won't continue to run

if you are getting no fuel to the plug you either have a stuck float, plugged fuel line or filter. does the gas reach the carb bowl? does the mower have a fuel pump? if so the diaphram might be bad.
