actually it takes less time to heat up and cook with the fan running
That is why it is called a fan forced oven as the fan forces the hot air all around the oven , heating it quicker and giving a better cooking result by moving hot air all around what is being cooked
The timer needs to be set to manual mode for the oven to work. Turn the oven control on. Play with the buttons on the timer. Try all combinations. It may take 5 or more minutes. When the oven indicator light comes on you will know it is on manual and the oven is working.
If the element and the indicator light both stopped working this suggests a problem with the power supply for the grill control. Either the grill control has no power going to it or it is faulty and requires replacement. If you are not sure what you are doing you'd better get a tech. to look at it, it can be fairly complicated for the untrained person.
Two possible problems. If the oven has two or more elements for normal operation then one of these elements may be faulty. The thermostat may also be faulty and only heating to a far lesser temperature than required. The way to tell is turn the oven to a normal cooking temperature. If the oven indicator light stays on all the time and doesn't cycle off then it may be an element problem, meaning that the oven can't reach the temperature setting desired. If the oven indicator light goes off after a while and then cycles on and off then the thermostat is working correctly but the temperature may not be hot enough. You may have to purchase a small oven thermometer and check the oven temperature against the thermometer to get a better idea of what the problem is.
not that familiar with the brand but in other case have fourn the board to be engaging the self clean. not a good sign. and for this model i would think very costly. wishful thinking says the oven temp sensor but i think you have a fauly board. get the same thing with alot of frigidaire ranges.
Ok , classic example of a fan oven element blowing, take the cover off inside the cooker held on by 4 screws so you can see the round element, you should be able to see where its blown a big hole.
replace element
( make the cooker is turned off of course)
it sounds like it burnt one of your main wires in the back of range. by turning a knob on you are getting a feed back. turn the power off remove back panel take a visual check of your wiring.
