My hp officejet d135 won't print with ink. I just installed two new ink cartridges. It printed out one sheet very very faintly and then wouldn't put out any more ink. The printer hasn't been used in more than a year probably. But the ink cartridges were just purchased.

Look un der the print cartridge, you should see the actual print heads or jets. they can be removed and cleaned with mild soap and water. They tend to plug up if not used regularly.

Just put 2 new ink cartridges in my printer - black and tricolor. the printer receives the message to print, sends the paper through and sounds like it is printing, but then the paper is blank with no ink...

Hi

Just remove the new 2 cartridges and rub the print head in a plain paper with isopropyl alcohol until ink flows, and then return the ink cartridges and run the print nozzle for 2-3 times. After that, try to print again.

Can i substitute my color cartridge with a black cartridge. I am using a hp officejet D135. I may need to get a new printer but I can't test it because I am out of color ink and I don't want to buy one to...

No !!! First of all they are not the same size so the black cartridge most probably won't fit on the color slot, and if for any reason you need to print more with it, the black ink would have left its "mark" inside the color ink the injectors.

Officejet d135 says bad black printhead- Replace the pentagon --

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Wont print

I use a clear silicone tube to carefully prime the carts by sucking a dab of ink out of the tiny print holes before installation. I am careful to have a tight seal at the holes to prevent getting too much ink and possibly getting it in my mouth.

Officejet d135 - "Supply Expired" error message

HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.
