The boards are no longer available from Mitsubishi, which board (signal, deflection, power) are you looking for?

A national company called PTS ELECTRONICS does repair some boards.

Let me know actual problem and I can advise.

How do i replace the signal PCB on a WS 65809 TV? I was told by repairman that this Bd is bad, but ge couldn't get a replacement. I finally located one and ordered it. Now I need to install

The problem here is you are taking the word of someone this is the problem, only way t know is to replace.

I know these sets very well, tell me what is wrong and what set is doing or not doing--the boards are not available from Mitsubishi, only from secondary sources.

Can you easily seperate the top and bottom of the ws 65807 for moving?

Yes. I have the ws-65809, which is virtually the same model. There are 4 rubber plugs that come out on the sides of the TV. under these are four screws. WARNING! You must disconnect the wires connected to the screen before removing the screen or removing the top half of the TV. If you don't the wires will rip out. I believe they disconnect with 2 clips.

Picture with signal applied is purple and distorted/choppy

The board you seek is the doubler (2HDW) module.. a lot of time reseating the board will solve the issue. If HD still works, this board is likely you problem. This board upconverts all non HD signals to hd to put onto the screen. IF HD doesn't work, you more likely need a signal board. This board has all the settings on it and is much more difficult to replace.

MITSUBISHI WS 65807 RED CRT OUT

It' sound like you have a bad crt, to make shure, just disconect the red crt baord and green crt board next to it and move then so you can try the red crt board on the green crt. If it does the same problem in witch I realy thought it's your video or hight voltage sounce on that board. If you get no problem well it's your crt.
I can almost garranty it's your crt.
