What do you have for a Processor now?
According to Acer Support, Aspire T180 specifications, the Acer Aspire T180 can come with,
" AMD AM2 Athlon 64 x 2 or Athlon 64 or Sempron (940 pin)"

Rather than go into a long explanation, explaining all about the differences with the above Processor's, and requirements needed for them, I would like you to download CPU-Z from CPUID.com
[I will explain however if you wish. It will be a Long read]
With utilizing CPU-Z we can see what processor socket is being used, what the and know for certain which motherboard chipset, is being used on the motherboard.
Leads to an accurate solution.
CPU-Z is a tiny, tiny, program, and is free.

At the upper left of the page left-click on -
1.55 setup, english (In purple)
Left-click on Download now! on the following page,
(In purple rectangle)
In the small window that comes up with -
Opening cpu-z_1.55-setup-en.exe,
in it, left-click on Save File
If you have your downloads set to save to your My Documents folder, (Start > My Documents), the file will go there.
It may go to a sub-folder within My Documents, called Downloads.
If you do not have your downloads set to save to your My Documents folder, this file will go to your desktop screen.
In either place when you see the file Double-click right on it.
Follow the simple instructions.
You will now have a shortcut to CPU-Z on your desktop screen.
Double-click on it, wait for CPU-Z to load.
Looking at the Wikipedia page on CPU-Z, and the CPU-Z user interface on the upper right, you will see 7 tabs.
CPU, Caches, Mainboard, Memory, SPD, Graphics, and About.
When you first start CPU-Z, the CPU tab is automatically open.
(CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or Processor for short)
You are looking at information on the CPU.
Look at the user interface, and tell me the following;
1) Name
2) Code Name
3) Package
4) Technology
5) Core Voltage
6) Specification
Look down to the left, and tell me;
7) Multiplier
8) Bus Speed
9) Rated FSB (Front Side Bus)

Unless you are doing significant CPU demanding programs, that probably is not why your system is slow. A new video card, faster disk or SDD, etc. will give you more performance.
Prebuilt PC's use Mobo's that are made specifically for the retailer and can be very difficult to identify therefore, finding a new processor is very tough.
