The hut on the head of the weed wacker is stripped and will not turn, how do i get it off?

If your clutch is spinning you more than likely have broken the drive shaft that goes down to the head. it is fairly common with craftsman weed trimmers.

Replace head gear box.

they are left hand thread. that means mostly U try the wrong war first if that dont work get a pair of multi grips onto it.

Very easy. There is usualy only one nut to undo.
You need to grip the head somehow, to stop it turning, and simply undo the nut with a suitable socket wrench. From my experience, most of the nuts on weed wackers are left hand thread, so to undo the nut, turn it clockwise.

it could still have the broken peice from the old one inside the seat.take it apart and look inside and inspect the seat where the drive cable enters.

Either the bolt has stripped out the plastic piece that holds the spool on, in which case you will need to buy a new plastic piece.

Or, the bolt is stripped where it threads into the metal insert.
Pull outward and unscrew counter clockwise.
