I have a Seiko flight watch, blue face, stainless band. The Chronograph second hand no longer resets to the 12 oclock position. It started dropping back by a second a week until it hit the 11 mark. I have had the battery changed as someone suggestd that was the problem, still no change. Now it is resetting to the 6 oclock position. How can I change where it resets too??
I guess the blue faced SEIKO is a Flightmaster (Model: 7T92- OCFO)and it is a great watch. This is a common problem with most chronographs and this happens due to misalignment with usage.
All you need to do is pull out the locking crown all the way out (2nd Step) as if setting time. and then press and hold the top / left button and at first the milli seconds hand resets. after which you have to press the borrom / right button to move the seconds hand in to place. and then reset the time and lock the crown. You can repeat this for Milli Seconds, Seconds, Minutes & hours hands.
Hope this helps,

Pull the primary bezel out as if setting the clock hands. Push the upper left button and it will change the sweep second hand to wherever you want it
Pull out the knob that you adjust the time with to the second position (2 clicks) leaving knob out push the top button on the opposite side and hold down, the second hand will advance let up at the desired spot then push the adjusting knob in.
Easy Soultion worked for me. Believe Me I was worried only had the Seiko Sportura for a week now. My second dial for the stopwatch was re-setting to 5 seconds instead of zero. The Solution is
1. pull the Crown all the way out ( In the position you take the crown to set the time , second click ).
2. To set the minute face of stop watch , keep pressing the top button untill it is zero. To set the second needle to zero keep pressing the bottom button untill it reaches zero or where you like it to re-set each time. Depend on you.
3. Once all neddles of stopwatch are at resting postions ( usually zero) secure the crown back to its normal postion. Test your stop watch , hopefully it will go back to zero when you press the reset button. C

I have the same problem with my seiko chronograph. The second hand resets about 2 seconds after 12. It seems very strange
my seiko chronograph with the 7T62A movement no longer resets the sweep second hand to the 12 position but stops it at the 25 sec position,am going to manually stop it at the 12 spot then remove and replace the battery to see if that fixes it.
