SOURCE: No Windows 7 driver for Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX printer
There is a driver--it's provided by the Microsoft website. While your computer is connected to the Internet, connect your 785EPX to your computer via USB and then turn the printer on. The driver will auto download and install. I just did this on an HP DV7 laptop and the printer works fine, showing ink levels, too, though you have to access the printer properties to see this.

Go to this site http://tech.epson.com.au/downloads/category.asp?sCategory=Inkjet&id=stylusPhotoR230&SelOS=Y to download the driver.
Choose the appropriate operating system (e.g. windows 7 32 bit or windows 7 64 bit).
Good luck.
Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer driver software. Now reinstall the printer driver software and connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts
